And in a non-cruising related post, for those of you familiar with the area, last night around 10 pm the straw market at the corner of Regatta Park burnt to the ground.

Fortunately, no one was hurt, but the structure and all of the straw hats and gift items were completely destroyed. 

The large shade tree next door to the straw market where tomato dude sold his produce was lost as well.

No word yet on what caused the fire, but the completely unreliable and usually misinformed Coconut Wireless gossip line says it was arson.

It’s really unfortunate for the ten or twelve ladies who made their living selling stuff to the tourons. And right before the Family Island regatta no less. 

Double shitty death!!
