Hiding From Erika

It’s that time of year and for the second time this week, there is a tropical wave descending on us. This one is named Erika which reminds me of a girl I dated in high school, because in addition to also being named Erika, she too was an evil bitch bent on destruction from which there was no escape.

We’ve readied the boat as best we can by removing all the exterior canvas and sails as well as deploying our heavy weather anchor strategies, so now we just sit and wait. And wait. And wait.

This morning’s forecast has downgraded the amount of wind we are expecting from 50 to 60 knots all the way down to 25 to 30, so we may have given Erika the slip. We should know for sure by the 8 pm update tonight from the goat rapers at NOAA, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed just the same.

More to follow, end of line …

Can you please elaborate on your heavy weather anchor strategies?
