Happy Birthday Bozo and The Cutest Infestation Ever
May 18, 2005
Wednesday, May 18, 2005 - Buddy Fred's Dock, Oriental, NC By Tom
Today is my birthday, happy birthday to me. I am 33 years old now, but Amy says I am more like 8 or 9 by modern
maturity standards.
We are still at the Buddy Fred's dock in Oriental, North Carolina. I have been spending my time working on
the computer, playing with ferrets, and manning my crab whackers. A little boat work is getting done, but not much.
Truthfully the boat is pretty much ready to go again. I can't say enough about how impressed we've been with our
boat.
The days are kind of running into one another. I'd like to say I know when we are going to start moving again,
but I don't. We are on the fence about whether we want to cruise the Chesapeake this summer or just hang out here.
If we hold out long enough from making a decision, I think it might make itself.
We stopped at Walmart the other day and bought a bright yellow smiley face volleyball so that we can practice
up for Georgetown again this winter. I will be a volleyball god!
Every day or two, I ride my bike down to the Oriental harbor and look at the cruising boats heading north.
There are still three or four moving through a day. There also seems to be a pretty good sized contingent that
plan to stay in this area for hurricane season.
Amy has been spending her time equally between her writing and trying to perfect her digital camera technique.
You didn't hear it from me, but lots of her pictures used to be blurry, so we here at Team Dream Catcher were happy
to see she is learning more about our equipment.
Our friends Steve and Sally had us over for dinner the other night. They live close by the Buddy Fred, only their
place suffers from a flying squirrel infestation. No kidding, they actually fly. It may truly be the cutest infestation ever.
See supporting evidence at right.
Anyway, on the boat front, I am about to start some electronics work, so I should have more to say soon. Stay tuned.
