Another week passes in the tropical paradise. Things have settled into a comfortable routine; volleyball by day, poker or beach bonfire by night. But alas all things must change and so sometime this week after our parts arrive from the states, we'll raise our anchor and head out for points south and east.
We hope to be able to head down to Duncantown and the Ragged Islands, but the weather will dictate what direction we can head in and there is very little we can do about that. Still after almost a month here in G'Town, it'll feel good to get moving again.
In other news, Team Dream Catcher suffered a serious failure when my 9 year old, hand me down eBook reader crapped out yesterday. Now I am left to fight for time on Amy's Android Pad, but so far i have been unsuccessful in getting to use it. She can be mean and most times she does not like to share her toys.
As a follow up to last weeks wind generator saga, George (St. Francis, not Super G), Grouper Style and I managed to finally beat the damn thing into submission. With the cunning application of intense heat and a BFH (big f*^^ing hammer) we were able to unstick the hub from the spline. After that it was easy to replace the bearing and re-assemble the generator, but the hub sustained serious injury and will have to be replaced.
Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but I am not in the good graces of the U.S. rep for our brand of wind generator as some of you may recall and so I had Amy call up and order the replacement pieces we needed. With any luck, Reggie Air will have the parts on the island on Wednesday.
Tonight we're traveling across the harbour for the super bowl party over at Palm Bay Beach Club. I think there are 10 of us going over to watch the game and it ought to be a good time. I'll have details and a group photo in our next update, but I have to say, I'm not really a big sports fan. I mean I like Gatorade, but that's about as far as it goes.
For the record, I'm rooting for the commercials. Ok, that's about it, talk to you later. Remember, be safe, it's stupid out there....
