Thanks to the choppy anchorage, we were up and underway early and for the first time in almost 8 years, we were finally going somewhere we'd never been before.
Every year we've been down to the Bahamas, we've always left from Lake Worth and headed across via the Abacos, but thanks to the two week old 20 knot winds out of the east, there isn't any weather to cross for the foreseeable future. instead, we opted to brave the ICW southward and face the daunting 29 draw bridges between here and Miami.
As the day progressed, we slowly made our way southward and each new little town was slightly ritzier and more ostentatious than the last. The amount of mega yachts and the average size of homes increased exponentially as we neared Boca Raton.
We called it a day around 4 pm and dropped the hook here in Lake Boca Raton just in front of Fat Chance. Frank invited us over on the pretext of being nice, but really it was just so I could fix his boat network. I think he might be an evil person and I heard he once poked a badger with a spoon.
Computer repairs completed, we returned home around 8 pm and after loading the dinghy back into it's davits, called it a night. See you tomorrow.
