This morning after a quick round of bacon egg and cheesies, we upped anchor, set the sails and headed south towards Staniel Cay. The wind was a brisk 15 to 20 and we made quick work of the 40 mile trip. We ended up having to motor the last 5 miles into Big Major's as the wind was too far up on the nose to hold the line under sail power alone.
We were greeted upon arrival by several boats we have met in years past. It seems we've finally caught up with the migration south. Bruce on Different Drummer called us on the radio and invited us to a happy hour on the beach later this afternoon.
We spent an hour putting the boat to bed and then I baked bread while the Amy unit played with the tribe. Speaking of the weasels, I am glad to report that none of the new members of Team Dream Catcher showed any signs of sea sickness during either the gulf stream crossing or the 40 hour run from Bimini. This is good because nothing is quite as sad as a projectile vomiting weasel.
Around 4 pm we heard from Frank and Debbie on Fat Chance who were nearby and they showed up around 5 pm, in plenty of time for the happy hour festivities. We spent two hours hanging out and meeting new and old friends on the beach before calling it a night and heading back to the mother ship.
Amy had snacked on the various goo laden food like substances available at the happy hour and so she was not hungry for dinner. I fear goo and thus ended up sharing two hot dogs with Marley and Bodhi before joining Amy in our stateroom to read books before turning in around 8:30.
Tomorrow we need to head in to shore to grab a couple of provisions at the small grocery here on Staniel and after that we may head down to Black Point, a whopping 7 miles to the south east.
